Morton Feldman, ‘Two pianos’

Frank Zappa’s ‘Ruth is sleeping’ for two pianos from his larger scale work ‘The Yellow Shark’, one of his final albums.

Centered around Morton Feldman’s hour-long work for solo piano ‘for bunita marcus’, and with a second pianist simultaneously playing works ranging from Sakamoto to Machaut, this was an exploration of spatialisation with both pianos being on separate floors of a gallery.

Excerpt from John Adam’s ‘Hallelujah Junction’ for two pianos.
