Crippled Symmetry is a two piano ensemble founded by Emmanuelle Fleurot and Martin Pérénom. Looking to expand the repertoire and structural form of music for two pianists, they have experimented with spatialisation and simultaneity within the genre of contemporary performance to create long sound installations often centred around a key work. Their collaboration started as fellows of the International Ensemble Modern Academy in Frankfurt in 2018/2019, where they had the opportunity to play at festivals such as Impuls Festival Graz, Gaudeamus Muziekweek, Wittener Tage für Neue Kammermusik, and 180° Festival Sofia as well as premiere many young composers works. They have been artists in residence at the Galerie Hus in Paris for the 2021/2022 season.
